So as the dust settled on what was a fantastic day yesterday, we reflected over a drink in the sun, on some of the great introductions we made and relationships that we built on. It was our first time at Let’s Do Business, which is the annual B2B exhibition in the south east with an estimated 3000 people in attendance.
We had a great spot right opposite The Brighton Chamber of Commerce, which was also where people congregated for seminars that were based on the power of social networking. Ideal for us, given the recent launch of our Social Media Management service.
We were out in force on the day with Arni Lochner (Creative Director), Craig Curchin (Production Director), Kirk Fletcher (Technical Director) and Joe Sturgess (SEO Executive) in attendance. We received some great comments on our branding and our stand in general, which is always nice to hear. Some people had specifically planned to come to our stand before the event even started, which was lovely to hear.
We tried to attract people to our stand by having a bit of fun through some mobile apps, such as FaceJuggler. This went down well, which demonstrated the power of social signals through Twitter. We certainly managed to put some smiles on peoples faces as they swapped faces with colleagues or from our celebrity selection. Will Smith was a particular favourite for a face swap. Below are some of our favourite picks from the day. If you were in one of our photos, check your Twitter account and you should have a mention from us. Let us know if we didn’t get your username right and we’ll tweet it again.
As well as having fun with people’s faces, we had some very productive conversations with some of the local businesses, which involved getting to know their strategy and marketing objectives. We were particularly pleased to chat to some business owners in the ‘spring’ of their business as we call it, whereby they’re a relatively new startup with a website in development, which is an ideal time for us to step in and lend our services. We managed to schedule in several SEO consultations for some exciting businesses. If you’re one of them, we’ll be in contact shortly.
We had a great time enjoying other company exhibits as well. Some of the standout ones for us was the popcorn stand at Trident IT, with the aroma delightfully drifting through the halls. We were also handed some amazing cupcakes from Gemini Brighton (the number 1 printer in Brighton and Hove), who demonstrated their luscious print materials. We also loved a great effort from Office Planters, who had managed to create a mini jungle inside the Brighton Racecourse Grandstand Hall. We’ll definitely be snapping some plants for the office soon.
We would just like to thank everyone that came to see us on the day and also for the lovely feedback on our brand. We hope we can be of service to you in the near future. Finally we’d like to thank the event organisers for doing a terrific job on the run up to the event as well as making sure everything ran smoothly on the day. All in all It was a long day but it was more than worth it and we will definitely be back next year. Hopefully bigger and better.
